Ministers, Preachers, and Religious leaders, in all religions and nations, are Government Agents. Agents used to pacify and subdue the people, so they do not rise up and overthrow the "crooked" leadership and government. I would equal these "agents" as spies against the common person - spies that should be shot!
These "Agents" like to use the scripture that speaks respect, honor, and do what the "leaders" tell you or it is a sin against God. Didn't the Catholic church use this strategy throughout the Middle Ages to dominate people and gain national allegiance through fear ?
Didn't Jesus Christ himself oppose the religious leaders of his day ? I tend to think he would be against them even now - with their behind-the-scenes corruption just like the government and their "kin" - corporations.
Religion has been defined as a man-made organization with rules, rituals, and habits. Thus, humans have created the structure on which its foundation rests. Who determines the framework ? People, not a super-natural entity. Who gets the attention and glory in the top levels ? People, not God. Everywhere, there are religious leaders that can be visually identified by the common folk on the street.
Was this the original intention ? Or is the current incarnation are "bastardized form" used as a tool by a "higher human power" ?
